FILM SCAN

At VM Foto we have been working with all types of analog film for more than 20 years, and more than 15 offering the negative and positive scanner service. We have always had the best machinery on the market and the most qualified personnel to offer the best quality, and we also have several high-end monitors and EIZO photographic quality, ideal to guarantee a correct calibration of the scanned images.

We have several scanners to be able to reach all film formats and all resolutions. Here’s a quick explanation:

NORITSU HS-1800 FILM SCANNER (2 teams)

Japanese-made film scanner, considered (probably) the best on the market among its competitors. We have 2 identical equipment to offer faster and more reliable deliveries (between 1 and 3 working days).

This scanner is characterized by the speed of scanning while offering a very high resolution and definition in the image (up to 4492×6774 pixels in 35mm film). You have the option of offering JPEG and TIFF files in 8 or 16 bits, reaching a better color depth, ideal for professional photography.

It has different negative holders that allow us to scan both 35 mm or 120 film, in color negative, B/W or positive, as well as framed slides. We also arrive at less common formats such as panoramic frames, medium format (24x18mm) or when the images have been overlapped.

The integrated ICE TECHNOLOGY dust and scratch correction program ensures almost perfect cleaning of scanned images.

Resolutions

135 Standard (2048×3072) – Ideal for sharing on networks, viewing on screen and copies up to 20×30 enlargements.

135 High Res. (4492×6674) – The highest possible resolution to get the most out of your negatives !! There is the 16 bit TIFF option if you want it for even higher quality.

120 Standard (2048×3000) – Ideal for sharing on networks, viewing on screen and copies up to 24×30 enlargements.

120 High Res. (4000×5500) – The highest possible resolution to get the most out of your negatives !! There is the 16 bit TIFF option if you want it for even higher quality.

FUJI FRONTIER SP 3000 FILM SCANNER

The film scanner perhaps most used by laboratories. The scanner software offers optimal quality and a very “analog” aesthetic in highlights and tones that makes the most demanding hobbyists fall in love.

With respect to the Noritsu scanner, it is a little slower, so the delivery time will be a little longer.

We have adapted a full-frame template to the 35mm negative holder to reach the entire negative and remove the black border, so requested today.

With the different templates of 135 and 120 we can manually scan the entire perforations of the 35mm film as well as panoramic images, pin-hole negatives, sprocket rocket, or less used formats such as 126, 127 or 110.

The built-in ICE TECHNOLOGY dust and scratch correction program guarantees near-perfect cleanliness on scanned images.

Resolutions

135 – 25 Mb (2433×3637) – Ideal for sharing on networks, viewing on screen and copies up to 20×30 enlargements.
